Queue at National Roman Museum sites

If I purchase admission online for the National Roman Museum (we will visit at least two of the four) will there still be a long queue at each location even though we have tickets? We would be there Tuesday, April 30.

When they become available on line we’ll try to purchase admission to the Borghese for Wednesday May 1. We learned on the RS forum that the National Roman Museum will be closed
May 1 but the Borghese will be open.

While on the date of May 1 will there be special public events/festivities in Rome?

The biggest problem with May 1 is that the buses shut down in the afternoon. At least that was our experience when we lived there. You could count on buses in the morning and evening, but for 3 or 4 hours, the drivers got a holiday or went to a gathering for what is Labor Day in Europe. I don't recall any "festivities" although I was not looking for them.... A lot of people out eating lunch, though, and parks were full.

Editing to add I do not recall ever seeing a queue outside of any of the national museums in Rome.

I too have never seen a long queue at the Palazzo Massimo or the Baths of Diocletian, even on a free Sunday. I can't speak to the other 2 sights, but since they're the lesser known of the 4 sights I'd be surprised if there were any lines at all.
