I have looked at the official website, cenacolo vinciano. My questions are: The ticket agency that handles this, vivatickets, asks for a passport number for on-line sales. If you book by phone with the call center, do they ask you for your passport #? If you book by phone, do they e-mail you a ticket voucher or do you just get a reservation # to get tickets at the site? The website shows sales for September opening June 5. Are tickets available sooner by phone? Thanks for any info from people who have experience with this process.
Hi Colleen, I called at 8 am Italy time on the day they went on sale (I am going on June 19 so it was a couple of month ago) and got through within 30 minutes. Very easy process. They game me a reservation number and a confirming email. I do not believe they asked for my passport. They were not available sooner on either the website or phone. Good luck.
John
Thanks, John. I'll do exactly what you did and hope I get through.
I spent a week calling at least 5 times a day at various times (and even had my Italian teacher call a few times!) If we got through at all it was to a recording that put you on hold for about 2 minutes and then told you that no one was able to help you. I got so frustrated (needed 6 tickets for a specific afternoon) that I went ahead and bought them on the TicketItaly website (for more than what they would have cost). Just my experience, hope yours is better but be prepared for one like mine :(
