Question on Campania Express

We have taken the train into Naples and walked downstairs to the Circumvesuviana train into Sorrento.

The Campania Express website lists Porta Nolana as the starting point for this train.

Do you catch this train in the same train station - Garibaldi - as you do for the Circumvesuviana train?

So you could walk from Garibaldi to Porta Nolana?

Why would you? The Campania Express departs from Porta Nolana and then calls at Piazza Garibaldi 5 minutes later.

We were planning on using Campania Express from Naples to Piano di Sorrento but our airBnB host told us that Campania Express only stops in Naples and Sorrento.

Please help!

Is Piano di Sorrento a stop for the Campania Express?

Should we follow signs for circumvesuviania in Garabaldi or are there Campania signs as well?

Christopher, according to the website, it does stop at Piano di Sorrento and some other stations between Naples and Sorrento as well.

I see you've asked this question in at least 4 different threads started by other travelers on TripAdvisor, and received similar replies? A gentle suggestion for newbies to travel forums? It's usually best to start your own thread rather than tack onto someone else's. If the original question isn't the same as yours, then your question might not be seen by people who can help you. Happy to see that wasn't the case this time, and welcome to the RS gang! :O)

We took the Campania Express from Naples to Sorrento, just be aware of the schedule as it is seasonal and only runs a few times a day. We timed it so we would have time in Naples to get some Pizza storing our luggage, about 4 hours. One we purchased our tickets (there was a window to buy tickets at the station) with the passengers gathered in one spot then these two ladies came out in full uniform, little hat and all, and guided us to the tract making sure only ticket holders got on the train. At each stop they would confirm all passengers, and there was a lot, but lot's of people were also turned away. The train itself was nothing special but it was air conditioned and not as packed as the regional train and we had assured seats.

Pay attention on the train platform. The trains to Sorrento are not the only ones that stop there. Don't get on the wrong train by mistake.
