Question about weather in Tuscany in late April

I'm scheduled to walk part of the Via Francigena starting at Acquapendente in the last week in April, 2027 and walking 8-9 days to Rome. I was hoping to avoid the scorching hot temps but was wondering if I'm going to run into quite a bit of rain? If I do, I do. Not losing sleep over it but I'm curious. Anyone have any experience in that area around that time?

Thanks in advance.

The landscape should be beautiful but rain is always a possibility - especially across an 8-9 day stretch. The official stats are about a 25% chance of rain and an average of less than 2 inches a month. So if there is rain, and you're a little lucky, it should be light.

I guess try and think of the rain as the same hardships the original pilgrims also experienced if that helps your experience.

Have a great trip, I'm eyeing the section from Lucca to Siena at some point hopefully,

We were in Orvieto in April this year, I think around April 10th ish. We did have one afternoon that rained heavily for a few hours, otherwise at most it was a light rain, or lovely and sunny. I think it will be a pretty time of year to walk that area, as it was still green and lots of blossoms in earlier April at least.

It is kind of a hit or miss, can be extremely rainy during that period of the year, or no rain at all.
