Question about Venice on Sundays & Mondays

We will get into Venice around 11:00 a.m. on a Saturday via train from our stay in Rome and will be flying home to Philly Tuesday morning.

I seen people mention on the board and read in Rick's Venice book that alot of sites are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

This is fine for us, we are just interested in seeing Dodge's which we can do Saturday, the rest of the time we are just exploring Venice itself. The reason for my post is I just recently seen someone mention something about all the restuarants being closed too and I am worried now...

Does anyone know if this is accurate? Is EVERYTHING closed on Sundays and Mondays or just the sites and food markets, etc...

Bethanne - You will be suprised to know that Piazza San Marco and all of Venice will be very busy!! I just returned from taking a small group on a custom tour through my Italia and Venice was extremely busy!!

No problem. It's one big tourist site. A lot of businesses and restaurants will still be open. Some may close on Sunday, others on Monday, or not at all.
