Question about transport from Siena to Naples??

Looking at the train schedule on loco2 for transport from Siena to Naples 10-30-2018.
They list a run that takes an extra hour, and at half the going fare, with one stop at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, then to Naples.

The first transport is stated to be BUS #F1205. Is this a bus or a train?

The second is with InterCity#583. Assuming this is a train?

Any feedback would be helpful.

Wondering if the half fare is worth the additional hour, and if this may give us nice views along the way?

Thanks.

I would only buy tickets from Trenitalia, the official seller of train tickets. having said that I would probably take the train from Siena to Florence simply to get the special Frecciarossa fast service that's under three hours from Florence to Naples but if you're buying at the last minute it's quite expensive . Three months in advance. It is a bargain, but like an air ticket not changeable. I would say there's not that much difference in view from one train to the next.

Thanks Tim. Have you had or heard of any issues with Loco2?
What is like changing trains in Florence? Difficult for the first time traveler?
Thanks

Definitely purchase the tix on Trenitalia.com. Enter Siena for departure, Napoli (Tutte statione) for arrival. Taking the less expensive train can save about €21 per person. For me, I’d take the longer trip down and just relax. And yes, bus means bus, the Intercity is a train.🚂

Philip-
Tried to enter the Tutte staion and did not see this option listed.
We already purchased tickets for on trip on Loco2, do we need to be concerned?
What is the differnce arriving at the Tutte station as opposed to the Centrale?
We are getting a car transfer to Praiano and they advised to meet them at the Centrale.
Are they close?

"Tutte stazione" means "all stations". Your ticket will have, the name of a specific station; with luck, it will be Centrale.

Loco2 has been recommended on this forum as a reliable source for tickets. I have never used it myself, but I doubt that you have cause for concern.

This is my response to your same question under Transportation ------

Yep a BUS is a bus. And an InterCity is an Intercity train. One step up from a Regionale train. Personally I don't think you get a lot of great views from any train so that criteria is low on my list. I would weigh the euro saved against the extra hour. For us we probably would opt for the euro savings but we almost never are in a hurry.

The Super Economy fare on that route is only 9.90 Euro but understand that once purchase there is NO exchange or refund. The SE fare on faster routes is 35 euro. That is a big savings for an extra hour or so. But you need to buy the SE soon since those fares sell out quickly.

At the train station.

ps -- Centrale station in Milano is a huge station you might ask the driver for a more precise pick up point.
