Question about SITA Bus from Salerno to Amalfi

I'm in Salerno now and having trouble understanding where I should catch the SITA bus when I leave and go to Amalfi.
Has anyone done this this year and able to direct me? Is it as simple as catching the bus on the little piazza in front of the train station?

Did you buy a ticket at the tobbaconist? You could ask, Dove sono ... nel Amalfi?

Not yet but that was my plan. Since posting the question I have come across several items from differing authors that each mentions catching the bus on via Vinciprova, which shows up on Google Maps as via Leonino Vinciprova. And the bus symbol on that street does list Bus 5120 Salerno-Maiori-Amalfi. So I think I've answered my question. Thanks for responding.

Buses depart from the bus station on Via Vinciprova, however they also stop in front of the train station. How about asking at the train station?

Why not take a ferry? We just did this trip and the ferry was great.

dbrowning98,

Did you have any trouble finding the bus on Via Leonino Vinciprova?

How was your trip?

Hello all. Thanks for all the suggestions. Once I made my decision I forgot all about this post. I need to figure out how to close it down. Yes, for the record I took the bus and chose to walk over to the first stop listed on the timetable I found--I am forgetting the name of the street--anf I am so glad I did. I departed on the 12:00 PM bus. The next stop, though not listed on the timetable, was at the Salerno train station as a respondent to my question had noted. I was incredibly grateful that I chose to board where I did, for the number of passengers boarding at the train station was so large that, once the bus departed, there were people standing in the aisle. In Amalfi, I decided to take the ferry to Naples rather than the bus to Sorrento. I thoroughly enjoyed the bus ride from Salerno to Amalfi for the views, but the crowded bus was something I decided I did not need to experience again. Besides, I have been on very few boats and decided it would be adventurous to do something I hadn't done much before.

Thanks for the update, and for the helpful tip to take the bus prior to the train station stop.

I hope you had, or are having, a wonderful trip!

Yes, I wanted to pass on what I had learned for anyone else who might stumble across this thread. I'm always happy to pass on anything I have learned.
I am having an incredible time as I am starting week 6 of 7 weeks in Italy and San Marino.

Sure. If anyone reading this has specific questions about a city/locale, sites or tours, my experience of my lodging choices and gastronomic choices in those cities or locales, and transportation, I am happy to respond.
I arrived September 5 and will depart October 25. I can try and address any questions about the places I've been, namely: Milan, Venice, Ercolano, Sorrento, Florence, Salerno, Amalfi, Naples, and the capital city of San Marino, Citta di San Marino. As of today (October 11) I am bound for Rome so won't have much to relay about it for a while.
