Hi! I'm flying from NY to Rome and then to Catania (direct flight -- all on the same airline). I have a bag checked. When do i go through passport control? Rome or Catania? And do you think I have to pick up my bag in Rome or will it go with me to Catania and I will pick it up there? Thanks so much for any advice!

You will go thru passport control in Rome
Your bag should be checked thru to Catania-just make sure of that when you check it in NY

When they put the tag in NY makes sure the tag says FCO and CTA
You won't see the checked baggage until you land in Catania.
