Question about Galleria Doria Pamphilj*

I thought I needed a reservation to get the time I wanted for Galleria Doria Pamphilj but when I called I was told there was no reservations? Do I need to buy the tickets ahead to get the time I want or can I just buy them when I get there Thanks

You can't buy the tickets ahead of time, but there's no need to. It's not one of the more crowded museums in Rome so you won't have any problem getting in. FWIW, it's still owned by the family and is not operated by the City of Rome. That's one of the reasons that it's among the small group of museums open on a Monday. It's a pretty cool experience, since you're actually wandering around in someone's home. Happy travels.

you may be thinking of the Galleria Borghese which does require advance reservations. In Nov we had no problems getting them the day before, however, Nov. isn't quite the high season. At Doria Pomphilj a free audioguide came with your ticket. It wwas not crowded there, no rush and very easy to spend 3-4 hrs enjoying the art.
