I’ve been trying to book some upcoming dinner reservations and some restaurants have a link to use the Quandoo app/website. I keep getting an error message on both the app and website.
What other apps are used in Italy for online booking? If all else fails I can always email my hotel and ask them to make the booking or try calling, but online is much easier.
Do the restaurants have an email address or WhatsApp phone number? Try that route?
Recently returned from 3+ weeks in Italy and reserved all of my restaurant reservations.
I used Quandoo for one or possibly two reservations, one was a pretty classy restaurant on a hill in Trastevere Rome. I seem to remember thinking that the one I made with Quandoo was pretty sketchy and I had difficult getting back on and changing the date when I needed to do that and I wasn't ever sure that the change had been made. I wondered why they were using a third party site like that. The website was really confusing but in the end our reservation was there and all was fine and my changes went through.
Most of my reservations (that I did not make directly with the restaurant) were made with The Fork and I think I made a half dozen or even more with them. All went very smoothly and honored...
One more thing. Lots of times I just emailed the restaurants and made the reservation that way. They all understand English and you have a record for the reservation. The restaurant's website invariably lets you know how to made a reservation and if they have a link to to third party site. That's how I found Quandoo.
I am glad to hear that the Quandoo reservation worked. I thought it was sketchy as well when I made a reservation through the platform, so I emailed the restaurant to confirm. Most of the reservations that I made were through "Fork", as someone else mentioned. Very easy to use! I am glad to hear that worked for others too. Good luck! I think it's a good idea to make dinner reservations, especially with a larger group.
I used Quandoo successfully as well as the Fork to make reservations. Some places I wanted to go had their own reservation system on their website while others I needed to call or What’s App.
Thanks everyone. I tried Quandoo again on different browsers with no luck. I ended up sending some WhatsApp messages inquiring about reservations.
