I'm just not figuring this out. In RS books descirbing rooms what is the 'b' for after either s, d, t, q?
Thank you
Hi Leslie,
the "b" is bathroom in room rather than down the hall.
b = private bathroom.
Thank you so much. Never would have got that and its really good info to have before hand :)
So otherwise there really isn't a bathroom in-room?
There can also be a small "s" code (after the capital "S" for single) meaning the room has a shower but the toilet will be down the hall. At the most budget end of Rick's hotel recommendations are the diminishing number of hotels that use shared toilets and/or showers) instead of having private facilities in each room. As this is almost unheard of in the U.S., the concept tends to freak some people out. But it can mean having a much lower room rate in historic city centers. And I've rarely competed with, or even encountered other guests when I've used shared bathrooms in European hotels.
And just FYI, it's in the Introduction chapter in the Sleeping section.
It means private bathroom, with single, double, triple, or quadruple room.
