Q about Vatican Tickets

We purchased our tickets for 9/23, but the option for a tour was grayed out. Are they already sold out for tours? Is it possible to add a tour later?

The website is showing tours booking through Sept 20th so apparently it's too early for the 23rd, Take a look tomorrow or next day and see if your date is now available? If it is, and you buy NEW tickets which include a tour, the ones you've already purchased would be unusable and they are also non-refundable.

I don't believe you can add a tour once you get there. The museums are very heavily visited and my guess is that advance ticket holders will already have filled the slots on your day of visit. As well, I've not seen an "add on" tour to a general-entry ticket. Never say never, I guess, but if you really want a tour, purchase it when it becomes available on the website.

Tours go on sale 60 days in advance, so you're a couple of days early for that. I don't think you can add on a guided tour, but you can rent an audioguide on site (or you can listen to Rick's free audio guides)
