Also will this tour include the entrances (not tour) to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill?
Also, www.coopculture.it is purchase site, correct? This site is direct, as in no third party extra fees?
And if this is the correct site. I can't seem to find where to purchase?
Thanks for any feedback. :)
That tour is here (link below) but if you're looking for English tours Sept 22-26th (when it looks like you'll be in Rome) they're all sold out for those dates.
The coopculture Underground/Belvedere tours are VERY popular and sell out within hours of becoming available so I imagine Sept. sold out some time ago. They're currently releasing quarterly bookings for Oct. - December, and monthly bookings for Oct. starting next week.
Hi Kathy
So on the coopculture site, is the regular Belvedere entrance also sold out? I'm still trying to figure out. And yes wanted to go the 23rd of Sept. And RS has a tour of the belvedere section correct?
Okay nevermind, dyslexic moment. Just reread what you wrote that Belvedere sells out. Are there scalpers? Or no shows who don't pick up there tickets? Hope those questions makes sense.
Hi Kathy
Just saw a couple of links you previously sent of tours for another site, now I don't see. Can you resend?

I didn't check just the Belvedere tours: you'll need to do that on the site.
No, there are no scalpers; they're just very popular tours.
No idea if there are no-shows but I doubt it.
I deleted the previous links for two companies as those tours included the Forum and Palatine and you didn't seem to be interested in tours of those. You can check tours offered by those companies, which are often recommended by RS posters. I don't believe any tours which include the underground also include the Belvedere but The Roman Guy does have a tour of the Belvedere and Forum.

Remembered the Walks of Italy site but didn't that other tour guy one. Yes, interested in the Forum and Palatine.
Thanks Kathy!
Hi Kathy
Think i found site "the roman guy?" Anyway they have a tour of the arena floor which sound intriguing and then belvedere tour. What have you heard of the arena floor tour? I can't do both but I like both perspectives: that is one tour is ground level the other is high.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Hi Kathy,
I actually just purchased tickets for the Colosseum underground and Belvedere tour through coopculture. We are going mid October and I got the last 2 tickets for our selected date! ALL the other tours were sold out already. You might want to check for your dates... I chose "Underground & Belvedere tour in English". These are timed entry tickets. Also make sure your bank knows you are making an international purchase or the transaction will get blocked and you'll have to go through extra steps as I did, Haha. GOOD LUCK!!!

misterbassman, I am not the OP; hisprincess58 is the OP and I believe her trip is in September.
Editing to add: hisprincess58, I saw the Colosseum twice before the arena floor, belvedere or underground were even installed or available to tour and didn't feel as if I missed a thing skipping them on a later trip. You'll just need to decide which of them most appeal.
Thanks Kathy!
Thanks for passing the info along Kathy
And I agree the underground & Belvedere tour is not for everyone but it was the only one left with space for 2 people when i booked yesterday, and they apparently just went on sale last monday. My wife might not be up for the climb to the top but tickets were only 28 euros so much cheaper than a tour through other vendors. Just thought it might still be available for hisprincess58 because all the regular tours are most likely sold out.

I do understand but if what you meant by "regular" is the really inexpensive 5-euro or so tour (+ entry fee) - those do not cover the Underground + Belvedere, which is what the OP specified she wished to do. Different animal. That tour was definitely showing as sold out on her desired Sept date. She may be luckier with a Belvedere-only tour (no underground) but as stated, she'd have to check the site for any remaining slots if interested in that one. :O)
As touring as economically as possible is important to you, I'm a bit baffled why you didn't just choose to use Rick's downloadable audio tour of the Colosseum, versus a guided tour of parts your wife may not be able to manage, as you plan to use his audio versions for the Forum (mentioned in a different thread) and Pompeii?
