Will be in Rome in May. Everyone suggests buying advance tickets to the Vatican, Gorghese Gallery, etc. Can you lead me to a reliable source? also would like to book a driver for a tour of some "out of the way" places we wouldn't find on our own. thanks!
You have to have advance reservations for the Borghese Gallery. The vatican you only need to purchase in advance if you are going in the morning in order to skip the horrid lines. If you go in the afternoon it's usually not bad.
Both the vatican and the borghese have official websites for obtaining tickets. Just google and you will see them.
The Borghese Gallery will allow so many people in at one time and they will assign you a time close to what your request is or you will have to work around that time. By far it is one of the better Gallery's and not crowded like the Vatican can be.
