We will arrive in Venice on Sunday, 9/27 and want to purchase a Sim/Tim card for my ATT phone. Does anyone know of anyplace we can purchase one on Sunday? I understand that the Vodaphone store is closed on Sundays.

I can't help with the SIM card question, but some other things to note:
Be sure your AT&T phone is a quad-band model. I recently encountered some young travellers from the U.S. that had arrived in Italy with a GSM phone, only to find out that it was only equipped with the two North American frequency bands.
Be sure your phone is UNLOCKED, or it WON'T work with other SIM cards.
Be sure to check the Charger for your Phone to ensure this is designed for "world operation".
