Where in Puglia are you wanting to visit? There are so many nice places. We have stayed in Polignano a Mare & Otranto and could recommend places there if you are going there .

Hi Lynne we were going to stay at La Corte de’lastore in Alberobello but that fell through. I haven’t researched any other areas since La Corte was always the plan until a few days ago, I would like to be close to the beach. We have friends that live in Bari so I would like to be close by. I’ll check out the towns you mentioned.

If you'd like to stay in a trullo in Puglia, we enjoyed this airbnb trullo in the countryside near Cisternino last spring: Trullo Stefano Cisternino. Lovely place and you would each have your own room for probably only $100 a night total. You'd have to put in your dates to see exactly. We were there for a week. Nicer than any hotel. I believe there was coffee and things to eat for breakfast provided, but I don't remember that detail. There are similar places throughout the area and I'm guessing even cheaper through Booking.com.

If you want to be on the coast, we also enjoyed staying in Trani 4 years ago. Our hotel was Albergo Lucy, a small, family-run hotel with a vintage style and nice owner.

Probably our favorite place to stay in Puglia has been Masseria Aprile outside of Locorotondo --- it's a B&B with a wonderful homemade breakfast and you stay in a trullo.

Anyway, look at the photos and descriptions of these places online and see if you might want a really special and memorable place to stay for two nights rather than a regular hotel.

We stayed in a charming trullo in the Aia Piccola Quarter of Alberobello. This quarter of Alberobello is more residential with great views of the town. It had two double beds, a daybed, small kitchenette, table, shower room and bathroom. Breakfast was provided in a separate building. We loved it and Alberobello. Here is a link to the company we used: https://www.trulliholiday.com/en/ Their website will show you more. Buon Viaggio!
