Public Transportation In Italy

We are staying in San Casciano dei Bagni this coming November, and would like to take public transportation from there to Rome. I'm not having good results as I attempt to find if public transportation is even available in San Casciano dei Bagni. I have looked at three different websites and none are very helpful. Is there a website someone can direct me to which is "user friendly?"

You may be hosed. One tip on transportation options in Italy is to find a hotel in the town you're interested and go to their website. They have an incentive to get people to come to their hotel, so they almost always list all the ways you can get there from major cities. In this instance, SCB is a tiny, tiny town. I found one hotel in town ( Sette Querce ), and they give only driving directions. Do you already have lodging arranged? If so, just ask them. Happy travels.

Hang on. I found one more hotel nearby and here's what they say, albeit in Italian: "By train, get off at the station in Chiusi where there is available an efficient service of bus, taxi and rental cars." Hotel San Casciano Terme

Yes, we have traded for a time share in SCB, and will have a car, so we could drive to a larger town in hopes that we can find a bus or a train. We really aren't interested in driving in Rome. I did that many years ago and learned my lesson in that regard. I had intended on asking the folks where we are staying about transportation but thought I also would try to get a little better prepared ahead of our visit. Thanks for the information and suggestions, Jim

Rent the car in Chiusi and drive it to SCdeiB. Drive it back down to the train station and take the train from there into Rome. Easy Peasy. BTW, be sure to try La Grotta Ristorante in nearby Radiconfani. One of my most favorite memories was dining there with friends. Only yanks in the place.
Heaven on earth.
