When looking to book my ticket for the Vatican Museum, I saw that they offered night openings on Friday. I would like to combine St. Peters (which looks doable), but I am torn as to whether I should visit during the day or during the evening (opens at 7pm). I want to do the self-guided RS tours from his book, but I don't care about the Etruscan section. Any advice on when would be better to visit?

The pros are that it's not as crowded, the cons are that not all the rooms are open. If you decide to do the basilica and the museums you should do the basilica during the day and then the museums in the evening. This would leave the morning to see other sites around the city. Donna
