Procida day trip

My husband and I will be in Naples for a few days in April. I'm compiling a list of options for our days so we can be flexible depending on rainy weather.

Has anyone been to Procida recently? We'd be on a day trip -- what would you recommend we do?

What's the boat trip like? How does weather impact it?

Is another island a better option for a day trip?

The slow ferries to Procida from Porta Massa or Pozzuoli are not that small (they also carry vehicles) and always run since they serve the many residents as well. It would take a major storm to halt that service. More susceptible to weather (rough seas) are the faster hydrofoils which depart from Molo (Pier) Beverello.

Like everywhere else in Italy that doesn’t have major sights, you hang out, walk around, eat, and find your own fun/something of interest..
You could also go to Ischia or Capri for a day trip. Most people go to Capri as it has quite a bit more to offer.

I liked Ischia much better than Procida.
The castle there is fantastic.
