We will be making online reservations for Academia for Uffizzi & Academia for August 27 !
When we bring our online tickets to those museums on that date/ time, will be able to walk right in or still need to wait on an additional line?
As I recall , you will need to exchange your printouts , which are vouchers , for actual tickets first , get there early . Since I stay in Florence for an amount of time that enables me to visit the Uffizi multiple times , I purchase an Amici degli Uffizi pass , allowing my wife and I access at will , with no lines with which to contend . If I am wrong about the tickets , I'm sure someone will make a correction .
Steven is correct. Once you enter you'll pass thru a security checkpoint. Immediately after that you'll see the ticket windows on your left where you'll need to exchange your vouchers (or even the Amici card) for real paper tickets. You then proceed to a waiting area until they usher in the next group ... usually about 30 or 40 people at a time.
All things considered they do a pretty good job of controlling access so that it never gets too terribly crowded inside the museum itself.
We were just there and had reserved tickets for both. I believe Uffizzi was Door 3, and Accademia was labeled something like "reserved tickets." Either way, both were easy to find and labeled in English. We had to wait in a short line to pick up the tickets at Uffizzi, but it wasn't a big deal.
