I can use some help. I am having a terrible time getting tickets for the Scrovegni Chapel. I cannot finish registering my account with Vivaticket so I can order tickets because the site requests I provide a cell phone number to which they are supposed to send a text to confirm the number, but said one-time passcode never arrives. I have tried different accounts, different browsers, different computers and even different phones with the same problem happening; furthermore I have reached out to their customer service through the help page on the website and recieved no response. Twice I have made calls to the museum from the US and gotten machine messages that promptly drop my calls. I am loosing time and our date to go is May 14th. I even wondered if there is a travel agent in the area who could help. Please let me know if you know a way to get in or get a reply. Thanks!!
If you tried with your credit card, I've had more luck using PayPal with Italian purchases from the US than with credit card.
Hi Gail, Vivaticket seems to require the phone number now. Here's the instructions we keep getting:
The following details are missing:
Mobile number or OTP authentication of the number entered
In order to proceed with the purchase phase, it is necessary to enter the mobile phone number and continue with number authentication
Thank you for suggesting email, though. I'm grasping at straws here!
I was curious, so I tried to purchase a ticket from an account I set up 5 years ago. My account was there but the first thing they wanted was to verify my phone number and the code did not come, just as you said. So frustrating.
When I had troubles purchasing tickets for my most recent trip to Italy, I had good luck with getting my emails answered. Perhaps you can find an email. Or call during business hours (I know you have tried). Or maybe your hotel could get you tickets.
Sorry I can’t help more.
And you are putting in your phone number with a +1 in front of it?
Yes, I used +1
Thank you, @Eef, for checking! It is very reassuring to know it is not just my systems. I will continue trying alternative methods (email, social media) to reach someone who might be able to resolve the issue. Fingers crossed!
I want to assure you that I've never read that the Scrovegni Chapel sells out very far in advance. No doubt some days are busier than others, but I've been there twice--most recently in September 2022--and both times I made my reservation after arriving in Padua. I'm not suggesting you wait that long, because something could go wrong, but there's no need to stress about a May ticket in February. This is not like The Last Supper in Milan or the Alhambra.
Thank you. I had no idea.
Alright, so good news: Somehow, in the morass of support requests I sent yesterday, I got a reply from Vivaticket's assistance page, they sent me a confirmation code, and I got the tickets!!! If it helps anyone looking for help in the future (this glitch has been happening at least a couple years apparently...), the reply was received by filling out the form under the assistenza (help and support) link at the bottom of the page; the email account that picked up the response was my gmail account; the reply came from the email address [email protected]. I wish I could also tell you which subject and secondary subject dropdown codes I used; I think they were "Registration" and "Account confirmation email not received", but I might be completely wrong about it. I sent a lot of support requests yesterday.
Thank you all for your help!
That’s great news!!!! Hope you enjoy your time there.
