Hello, my wife and I were planning to take a train from Milan Centrale station to Varenna-Esino on May 25th. Looking at the Trenitalia schedule it only shows trains running at night and not hourly during the day as we had previously seen for earlier travel dates. I have since seen some Reddit posts about service disruptions on that train line in April. I tried a website chat with Trenitalia about where the schedule is and if there were route changes and the chat bot did not understand the question. (of course). The only alternative we found that makes sense is to take a regional train from Milan to Como and a ferry to Varenna. Has anyone else heard of these service disruptions? Any ideas for a better way to get Varenna?
The rail line is under repair from Lecco to Tirano. There will be times it is shut down. There should be replacement buses provided, but Trenord, who operates the trains, has not been very forthcoming about providing information on the schedule.

Looks like they haven't published the schedule yet. I would check again in a couple of weeks.
We were in the area a couple of weeks ago (around 15th of April). We saw no issues with the train service from Milan to Varenna-Esino station. It of course is very crowded in Varenna as are all of the lake ferry boats.
