We are a a group of 6 people that need to get to the airport at 5:30 a.m. in Rome on our way back to the US. Our hotel is not near the train station. Any recommendations for a private van or any ideas?

Perhaps the best way would be to ask your hotel desk people. I know I did at the hotel we stayed at in 2006 and he had a friend who drove us (less fare than taxi) Perhaps they know of someone with a van.

we just used a taxi, there were two of us and he charged us 60e total with bags etc.

you could try info@airportconnections.it. also send an email to the hotel to see if they can set one up for you and the price.

Ilene, we had our hotel reserve our driver/taxi for us the night before our departure. It cost 45 euros to go from the Villa Borghese area which is also not near the station.
FYI, we got to the airport 3 hours early and were checked in and through security in 1 hour.

We just returned from Italy & we used Romecabs (highly recommended on this forum & others) to get from the airport in Rome to our apartment. We were very pleased. The price was very reasonable & the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend & would use them again.
