I am traveling to Venice in the near future (next week!). I need to get to Tambre for a ski race event. I would ideally like to hire private driver for my transportation from Venice airport to Tambre. As well, days later, I would like similar transportation from Piancavillo back to Venice. I would like to stay in Venice one night and ideally hire a tour guide for a short tour of Venice before returning to the states. Would anyone have a good trusty reliable resource for hire as a private transportation to the mountains and back to Vencie?

Can't help with any of your questions, but it might be useful to know that there is rail service from Sacile back to Venice, which would cut about 50 miles off what is likely to be an expensive taxi ride.

A bit of research shows that there are buses from Piancavallo to Aviano, where you can then get a bus to Sacile and change to a bus to Venice. http://www.atap.pn.it/it/ricerca_orari.aspx?dosearch=true
I don't know if that link will hold, but the start point is "Piancavallo Piazzale della Puppa". You probably will get a better idea of your options when you get there.
To get to Tambre from Venice airport, start with a bus to Venezia Mestre train station, then train to Belluno with a single connection, the the bus 37 to Tambre.
Are you participating in the Alpago Piancavallo ski Mountaineering Championship and the races before that in Tambre?
