Private transportation for 6 adults in Italy

Six adults are traveling post Viking Cruise disembarking in Venice. On Oct. 2025 we want transportation from Venice (cruise port) to Verona, with 2 nights in Verona, then on to Varenna (Lake Como) for three nights, lastly. We know we can take the train however prefer a private transfer because there are 6 adults and we like the flexibility and time saving of a drive vs the train. Can anyone recommend a private transport/transfer service?

First make sure you are actually docking IN Venice

You will need a van and honestly not sure driver will be faster than train

Check with the cruise line as to which port your ship actually docks in.
It may say "Venice", but you could possibly be in Trieste, Fusina, Chioggia, Ravenna.......
Some cruise lines are not immediately transparent with important details.

IIRC, Viking Ocean ships actually port in Chioggia, not Venice.

If you are determined to use a private vehicle and driver, then try the link above. However, with 6 adults and just carry on luggage, you will need a van. If you have more and/or larger luggage pieces, then you would need a very large van, with expenses increasing accordingly. At the price these will cost, I'm not sure what kind of flexibility you expect to have. And at most you would only save an hour in travel time on each trip. Up to you, but I'd also check the trains.

You say that you like the flexibility and time saving of a drive, however, the trains take less time than driving the same route and cost less especially with six people with luggage. Your ship will probably berth in Fusina or Chioggia judging from the Viking cruise passengers forums. You’d do well to search there and find out exactly where you’ll disembark from as it will help you decide.

Last fall, we hired city guide Valeria of ‘Tours by Valeria B.’ for a day tour of Verona. One of her associates does private transfers which she contacted for us. We were picked up at the Venice Airport and dropped off at our Verona hotel. We did this because we were exhausted from an international flight from the west coast with several connections. When we left Verona for Padua several days later we were advised by Valeria and several others to simply take the train which we did with ease. I might add that it was over 350 euros while the train was closer to 30 euros.

We used Transfeero last May from Florence to Cinque Terre during train strike. We had 7 people and luggage .Worked out great. Not cheap but worth it.
