private transfer from Monterosso to Florence airport

Hello, I will be taking a week long workshop in Monterosso, in the Cinqueterra, in June, 2022 and in order to reserve a flight to go home from the Florence airport, I will need a ride from Monterosso to the Florence airport. I need to know the cost of this transfer and how long it will take, and if I can reserve a ride now? I know that there is a train to Florence, but then I would need a taxi ride to the airport. The flights from Florence to Boston seem to cost a lot more the later in the day one books. Any advice?
Thank you, Kathy

There are no direct flights to Boston, except from Rome and maybe Milan. Flights from Europe to the US depart in the morning, so you need to transfer back to the airport (whichever it is) the day before in order to make the flight. Your last night should be spent in the city you depart from.
The airport closest to the Cinque Terre is Pisa, not Florence, and Pisa has also a busier airport. I suggest you take a train from Monterosso to Pisa (or Rome or Milan) the day before your flight home. If you decide to depart from Pisa, you will need to change plane somewhere in Europe, because there are no direct flights from Pisa to the US. If you decide to return from Rome, they have also non stop flights to Boston. Flying to/from Rome with a non stop flight from Boston would be my choice. You can go to Monterosso by train, which is the most efficient way to go. The journey from Monterosso to Pisa is 90 minutes. From Monterosso to Rome is about 4 hours. There are trains that can take you from Rome to Monterosso (and viceversa) with no change, Pisa is between Rome and Monterosso, and the same train stops there as well. If you choose a private car service, the time of travel is similar, but the cost is probably around 150-200 euro to Pisa and about 600 euro to Rome. Monterosso to Milan is about the same distance and cost as to Rome. Between flying to Rome or Milan I would choose Rome, simply because I don't think there are flights non stop from Milan to Boston at the moment (not sure about next June). If I have to change planes somewhere, then I'd rather fly to/from Pisa, which is closer than Milan.

Or just take the tram to the airport? Anyway, a taxi from Florence S.M.N. will still be a lot cheaper. But, why are you flying from Florence? Have you considered flying from Pisa instead, a larger airport that is closer to Monterosso. Or maybe Milan, which is a bit further away but a much larger airport that should have more flights.

It looks to be about a 3 hr drive of 200km. Getting there for a morning flight looks to be challenging and, based on the distance, would expect it to cost 300 euro or more.

Have you looked at flying from Pisa? Only about half as far from Monterosso as is Florence.

Your event organizer not have suggestions?

If I was in Italy for a week, I would extend it if possible, get to Rome and spend a few days then fly home from there. Travel does involve Train and Taxis and the like, all part of the fun.

The ride in the backseat of a car on the curvy, hilly roads on the section from Monterosso to La Spezia is at least tedious and at most nausea provoking. There are also new modern connections from the central train station to the airport in both Florence and Pisa. Take the train, it's faster, easier, cheaper. Take a look at the Boston-Munich-Pisa flights on Lufthansa, the Munich transfer is quite easy.

Katalingspan,
I sent you a private message so take a look. But in summary getting to Florence is really easy from Monterosso by train. And very low cost compared to the trains here in America.
