I am looking for some reasonable options for a one way transfer from Catania Airport to Cefalu on Sept 20th in the am. Most of what I see is the $400 range which seems high for a 2 hour ride. And the train takes 4.5 hours which is long time after a 7-8 hour flight from the States. Any ideas?

There are two drivers that I have used several times each, in Sicily, in and around Catania.
I have no idea of the going rate but I can assure you that both of these men are fair in pricing and delightful companions on a drive. We've alternated between the two on two trips to the island in the past two years. Both drive new, clean Mercedes (I think) vans with fine a/c.
Remember that you are paying for the drive from the airport to Cefalu, and for the driver to return home after he drops you, he will not pick up another ride unless he is extraordinarily lucky.
Four hundred sounds a little steep, though. Just ask them the price; they are not going to cheat you.

Thank you so much. Sent messages to them to get quotes. Yes, $400 did seem high even w/round trip in mind, but maybe that is the going price. I figured it wouldn't hurt to check around. I appreciate your help. It's my first time to Sicily and we are starting a RS tour in Palermo a few days after we land.
