Although there is a lot of material that does NOT pertain to you, this very recent post makes it clear that there are PLENTY of trains on this route:

Do you have to be back without fail for the departure of the ship for the next port? That makes self-transfers more risky that something sold by the cruise line. Or are you finishing the cruise in La Spezia?

There are many trains each day from La Spezia to Florence

It is too early to book for August, schedule will be updated 6/11

Look at a same day of week now to see what is available
The schedule don’t change much

Be sure to use Italian station names:

La Spezia Centrale
Firenze SM Novella

Oic. Thank you so much.
Would it better to buy ticket online or train station? I read that its a 2 hrs journey and I have to return to La Spezia port.

Hi There,
The Florence - La Spezia route is VERY common and popular. The train timetables and advance booking of tickets is the problem because you can't book that far ahead. Either a tour or self guided trip is easy from La Spezia port.
If you do it yourself, I recommend getting a taxi from the cruise terminal to La Spezia Centrale (approx 10-15 euros) and then train to Florence. This will be approx. 2.5 hr trip.

Most of the trains on that route are regional trains, with fixed prices. You can buy tickets on line, but those require you to have a smartphone with data in Italy, as you need then to "check in" for the train you take.

In stead you can just buy a traditional paper ticket at the station, and just stamp it before you board the train. Tickets are flexible, so you are not tied down to a particular return time from Florence.
