Does anybody know of any good private guided tours or tour guides in Venice and Rome ? I usually start off a vacation by fighting with my wife because we got lost the 1st day and the vacation gets messed up. I want to stop it now before it starts !

I don't know if you want a group tour but if you are condsidering one I used angel tours in Rome and they were great. They do a good 'overview' tour taking in all the major sites. I didn't do that one but spoke to a couple who did and they really enjoyed it. Their website is www.angeltoursrome.com

I took the Angel Tours "no wait" tour of the Vatican Museum on Friday October 19th at 9:00am on my last day in Italy. The tour guide was very informative and was working on her PHD in art history. My only problem with the tour was that it started at 9:00am and we fianlly entered the museum at 11:00am. I felt like they wasted two hours of my short time in Rome.

My wife and I just returned from a Med cruise this past Sunday with a stop in Rome. We decided to take a private tour with Angel Tours since we had a limited amount of time in Rome and wanted to see more than the ships shore excursions had to offer. Our guide was great and we covered about every major site in our day there.
