Has anyone done any private tours in Tuscany while staying in Florence? I have seen websites for private drivers that will pick you up in Florence and take you for 8-10 hour tours in Tuscany, but there are so many.

Some of these can be expensive. I would ask around the small group tours first as they usually have a limit of 8-9 people but they may run with a minimum of 2-3 people....meaning you could get a private tour for the price of a small group tour. You could save 200-300 Euros and still get the same day in tuscany.
My recommendation would be http://www.slow-days.com which run day trips into Tuscany. Prices are extremely variable in this field. Check at least 3 or 4 before making a reservation.

My husband and I just returned from Tuscany. We did a wine tour through the Chianti region with the Tuscan Wine Society. www.tuscanwinesociety.com. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was 120 euros each, but included lunch, two stops for wine tasting and it was about 8 hours. We loved it.
