Private tour with a visually impaired tourist who requires a walker or wheelchair

Greetings.
I am taking my 75 year old visually impaired friend who uses a walker to Rome, Italy in October.
Is there a private tour guide who might accommodate a trip to see the vatican, and other Roman sights? We will be there for 2.5 days.
Or can you make recommenations for this type of excursion? Thank you,
Mary Jo

Hi Mary Jo,
Could you provide just a bit more information? For instance, when you say "...a trip to see the vatican, and other Roman sights?" do you mean just drive-bys of St. Peter's, Colosseum, etc. or tours which include the interiors of the basilica + museums, Colosseum, etc? There's a huge difference. The golf cart tour recommended by the previous poster provides only exterior viewing of the majority of landmarks listed, as do other golf cart tours I'm aware of.

For tours inside some of the biggies I'll refer you to Sage Traveling. It's been around for quite some time and are recommended by Mr. Steves. They are not inexpensive but if looking for a company with extensive experience with mobility-challenged visitors in a very old, mobility challenging city, they're likely worth the price. You might look at the "Full Accessible Rome Experience" tour?

Caveat: I've no personal experience with Sage Travel but their services have been recommended on the forum for years and, well, with a Steves' endorsement....
