Can anyone recommend a private tour guide who specializes in churches in Rome? Ideally this would be a golf cart tour for my older relative. We'll be seeing St. Peter's and Mary Major on our own, but ideally this would go to some of the other beautiful churches, including John Lateran and St. Paul outside the Walls.
Any other ideas welcome!

I'm pretty sure that to cover churches you specifically want to see via golf cart will involve a customized tour. I've no personal experience with this company but take a look at Rolling Rome and see what they could do for you? They may not be able to fill the bill as far as specializing mainly in churches but give it a shot. Their reviews on TripAdvisor are good. I would expect the tour to be pricey.

As well, LivTours have seen some love on these forums, and they have a private tour by car (versus golf cart) that covers the 4 major basilicas. It does include Santa Maria Maggiore - which you said you planned to do on your own - but maybe you can alter your plan?
