I’m considering the Viator private tour from Sorrento to Amalfi. They stop as you wish. Its $590 for two people. Does anyone have any experience with this. Please proved your thoughts and recommendations.
Viator is a third- party booking agency. Why not book directly with the drivers and tour companies? The price you quoted seems high. We were just there in May. We used Aldo Limos, and were very happy with our AC trip. RS recommends Mondo for shared tours , but they also do private tours.
Do a Search here- there a wealth of info.
Have a great trip!
We used a company (https://www.topexcursionsorrento.com/ ) for 3 different days during our Amalfi Coast stay. Very professional but not cheap. Well worth it. Giovanni is the owner and lives in Sorrento.
I don't know anything about Viator.
Above from a Search here.
Perhaps if you added Amalfi Coast to your title you would get more notice. Safe travels!
I second the Aldo Limos suggestion! They're great.
we used Rick Steves recommended sharedtours.com and had a very good experience.
That price seems similar to a private car for six to eight hours. I presume you meant "round trip to Amalfi." However, a private car rental does not include a trained guide with absolutely fluent English. Our driver, an lovely older gentleman certainly knew the sights of the Amalfi Coast, and knew where to stop for a "view and photo", in addition to 90 minutes free-time each in Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. But if you want 100% "guided tour", that would be a second person besides the guide, and more expensive.
Note that this route is subject to heavy traffic delays, say from May to September. You did not give the month and year you are visiting. If you put "Amalfi Private Driver" into the search box top center, you can get plenty of suggestions, which can be filtered for "Two years". We figured our big Sorrento hotel's [Ambasciatori] "land partner" would have a big incentive to please the hotel's guests, and that worked great. We also got to charge the trip to our hotel bill, after booking at the Concierge Desk.
When the driver asked us if we wanted to go to "the [my brother in-law's] pottery shop", we had the presence of mind to ask, "Wow, do they have a row of bathrooms for the tour busses? Oh yeah, we'll use the bathrooms, but no shopping, thank you."
