Private Taxi from (Naples) hotel to Mt.Vesuvius & Pompeii

I can't help with a driver, but I do have a question. I usually get to a train station 10 or 15 minutes before a train leaves, maybe a bit more if it is a very large station that I am unfamiliar with. You are suggesting to return to the Naples station at 4:30 for a 6 o'clock train? That's 90 minutes. Do you mind me asking why so early? It isn't an airport. There's no shoes to take off or nude-o-scope to walk through.

Actually what you are asking for is basically a private tour guide with vehicle. It will be very expensive - at least by our standards - but I would make inquires of limo and tour companies. All will be honest and reliable. For this you will need to negotiate a fixed price for the day. Nigel is correct is there is no point in being at a train station anywhere more than 30 minutes in advance of the departure so that gives you an extra hour.

Thanks for reassuring us of only being at the train station 30 mins before our train. We were unsure of when we should be there. Yes, we are wanting to hire a taxi for the day. We don't need a tour guide taxi. We just want a reliable taxi driver to get us there, watch our luggage, and get us back. We don't want to be in a group either. Any suggestions you offer would be greatly appreciated. What limo service would you suggest?

We hired Giuseppe to guide our family on a day trip in early January to Herculaneum. Vesuvius and Pompeii. Giuseppe and driver he arranged picked us up at our hotel in Naples. Giuseppe was a great guide and it was a hassle-free day. He even arranged for the skies to be clear when we reached the top of Vesuvius! We all agreed that we would have liked more time at Herculaneum.
