Does Rick Steve have any drivers that I can get to pick two of us up after our ship comes in on 15 May?
Royal Caribbean arrives in Civitavecchia. Thank you!
It appears from an earlier post that you need to go to Rome after a cruise. If that is the case, check out Rome Cabs that is based in Rome. They are a private car service and not a regular taxi company despite the name.
We've used them a number of time to and from the Rome airport and have always been pleased. Just email them and detail your needs and you should get a reply in less than a day. If they can't handle your situation, they can probably suggest another company that can.
The cost will be right at 200 euro. Solid hour drive to Rome. Train is easy to do.
We used Bob's Limo. There are many others; google " Civitavecchia private transfer".
If you email them, they may arrange to help you share a ride for up to six people to bring down the average cost per person.
You can also do this by joining a "roll call" on cruisecritic.com to find other passengers in the same boat to arrange for a shared transfer.

Another vote for RomeCabs. We use them and went to the cruise over 10 years ago to one from Rome. Great service highly recommended.
Thank you for the responses!
I’m curious about “roll call” on cruisecritic. I looked at their site & didn’t see anything that said roll call. It would be great to find others who are going by private transport into Rome. Our hotel is in Trastevere so it’s not close to the central station & I don’t know if that train stops at the Trastevere station.
Do you want to spend 200 euro on a taxi or 5-10 euro on the train? Most trains from Civitavecchia stop at the Trastevere Station in Rome. At the Trastevere Station you can catch a taxi to take your hotel. I've done this transfer myself. Take the free shuttle bus from the dock to the Civitavecchia's Lago della Pace "terminal," which is basically a big parking lot. Then take the cheap shuttle bus from the terminal to the train station. Jump on the train and get off at Trastevere. See https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html for the train schedule.

After you become a member, just do a search for your particular cruise ship name and date. If one does not exist for your particular cruise, you can also set up your own.
The roll call is also good for organizing shore excursions. If you get four or six people together, you can book private shore excursions which are much cheaper than those offered by the cruise ship. Also, it is much more pleasant to do a shore excursion with an interesting driver-guide in a very small group as opposed to a tour bus with a hundred people.
