Anyone have any recommendations for private tour guides who will pick us(4) up at the pier, stay with us at sights. We have only one day each for Palma de Mallorca, Rome, Florence, & Naples. Thanks

Goggle each of those cities and you find references to arrange tour guides. We tend to go a little cheaper by picking up our guides at the local TI and lot of times the tours are walking tours. The Rome dock, Civit.... is over an hour from Rome and the same for Florence.

We used Francesca Caruso in Rome (she has since been married so her last name may have changed.) She is listed in Rick Steve's Rome book. AMAZING!!! We have recommended her to other friends and all whot were able to get her - she books up quickly - have been more than pleased. She is a little pricy but well worth the cost. You simply will not find a better guide!!

Our group of 6 used All Around Italy for our cruise on the Splendour of the Seas in Nov/10. Fabrizio was waiting for us right at the port in Naples, Civitavecchia (Rome) and Livorno (Florence). The prices were 520, 500, and 550 euros, respectively. He drove us right to the sights and waited for us there. We were able to design our own tours, which was good as I had been to all of these places before and knew what would interest my group. We were back about an hour before all aboard. I would use him again if I was with a group.
