Private Guide for Uffizi

Does anyone have a recommendation for a private guide for the Uffizi? We have already purchased our tickets for the museum!

The Uffizi has soo much art that you won't be able to see it all in one visit. I don't know of a private tour guide. We used the RS free download on my mini-iPad with ear buds. It's very well organized and will take you through the lion's share of the Uffizi without causing an art overload meltdown. You can go at your own pace. I reviewed it prior to my trip along with Sr. Wendy Beckett art books and videos. It made a big difference.

At the top of this "page." Click on the small "square" made from four white little lines at the upper left. Then, click on "watch, read, listen." You can download for free Rick Steve (RS) podcasts and app.s. I put a few on my mini- iPad and used ear buds. You can buy ear buds that two people can wear simultaneously. There is an ear bud cord you can buy that multiple ear pieces can attach to. My daughter and I did this. In places like Frari church or the town of Assisi - you can just listen quietly to your ipad without the ear buds. No one will be bothered.

Uffizi and an 18 month old - perfect! Take a stroller, some snacks for the child and really just have a great time. Fantastic gallery. Just really fantastic. We found plenty of places to sit down and take a rest inside. Really great. Enjoy. No guide needed.

The Rick Steves guide is the cheapest way to have a private guide at the Uffizi, but if you're looking for a live human to take you around the museum I had a wonderful tour there through Context. Viator may also offer tours through there as well.

Whatever you decide, you will LOVE the museum! It's truly a magical place.

We went last April and did a group tour by Florencetown tours and it was fantastic. I usually prefer not to go with a guide but the art history provided really made the tour so much more interesting! Highly tecommend!
