Four couples (and one small child) would like to arrange for a day trip in early March to include several towns in Tuscany (Cortona, Arezzo, San Gimignano). The trip would begin at a villa just outside of Florence. Are there private individuals (with a suitable vehicle) that provide this type of service at a reasonable cost? We anticipate the trip would include a lunch in one of the towns and perhaps dinner in another. In the alternative, are there tour companies that also provide this service with a customized itinerary?

That's a pretty aggressive itinerary for one day, including probably 4 hours' worth of stops for Lunch & dinner. Then, even considering 2 hours a stop for poking around plus time to and from your villa, it will probably stretch into an 11 or 12 hour, and feel like a 16 hour day with the small child. To start, suggest you look at a map and drop one stop so that you guys can remain friends, and then look for a service that can handle your plan.
