I was looking at transfeero.com for a trip next year. Has anyone used them?
When I put in our destinations, they were a bit less expensive than daytrip.com.

Barbara, We've taken two trips to Sicily in the past two years. The first trip we used only private drivers for getting from place to place (transfer from one hotel to another). While in a few locations (Trapani, etc, we used taxis and also a private tour).

Instead of looking at these large companies, I would suggest that you first ask your hotel to recommend a driver. I have done that quite a few times and never had a problem. The driver wants to be on the hotel's list for the future so he has an added responsibility to offer good service (show up on time, etc). When we had our hotel in Trapani book us a driver upon checking out, the took us us first for a lunch stop (a place I had read about and requested); he waited for us and then took us on to our next destination: A great B&B near Agrigento.

From Ragusa, we again asked our B&B for a recommendation and we were introduced to a driver who took us to an olive oil "frantoio" and, at the end of our stay, drove us to Catania. We liked him so much that we hired him (after our stay in Catania) to bring us to Milazzo for the ferry to Salina Island.

I double checked pricing for these, and many other drivers, and the hotel gave us a price that was in line with the others.

Last September, after driving our rental car for the first part of our trip, from Catania to a rural inn outside Marina di Ragusa, and back to Catania, this same driver from Ragusa (his name is Dario Caffiso) again drove us to Milazzo for another stay on Salina, and then picked us ups and drove us to our hotel outside Siracusa.

These are a few examples. Besides asking your hotels, you can look online and on the TripAdvisor site where there are drivers listed, with reviews.

I am happy to give you the info on both Dario and on another well-respected driver who is based in Licata but, like most drivers in Sicily, covers the island and also into Calabria.
