I'm looking for a name of a private driver or a shuttle service to take me from the airport to my hotel in Rome.

take a regular taxi from the taxi stand in front of the Terminal T3 (which is likely the one you arrive at).
50 euro flat fare.

Oh that sounds like a much better rate. I've been looking at various sites for drivers and the minimum cost I've found is 120 EU.

Always use an official taxi stand and ignore any offers potentially made before you get there. There will probably be a line so just line up and wait your turn. At someplace as busy as the airport I wouldn't be surprised if there would be someone expediting, but the process is pretty straightforward either way.
If you want to pay by credit card confirm that the terminal is working before you get in. I'd recommend having the address of your hotel printed out separately to hand to the driver unless your Italian is excellent.
That's pretty much it. The taxi stand rule applies everywhere in Italy so if you need one to come to you have the hotel call them or there are apps you can use. There is a pre-set additional charge for being called to your location which will be added on versus finding and taxi stand.

In December 2023- Our hotel booked us E65 with a driver waiting with a sign, but needed to pay cash to the driver. We tipped another E10 because he was fantastic, took us a back way I had never been on multiple trips to Rome & stopped to let us take photos arriving above St Peters....

Hi Heather, take whichever suits you!! About tipping - I learned to tip from my Italian uncle, a Roman bus driver, 35 years ago. We would stand at a bar drinking espresso, which at the time cost 700-800 Lira, and he would leave the change from a 1000 lira note in the small glass left on the counter for the barista. Not a wealthy man, I learned to be generous to working folk in Italy from him. Hope you have a great trip, Rome is wonderful. (PS, He also 'rounded up' in restaurants, not a lot but a bit, should have added - to people who provide a good service, not to everyone!)

I am hoping Roberto comes along and explains why taxi drivers do not need a tip ( one of the most lucrative careers in Italy they are not the poor working class)
Neither are servers in restaurants-they make a living wage
