We will be flying into Catania and would like to book a private driver to bring us to our lodging in Ortigia. We will also be looking for someone to do a day trip from Ortigia to either Ragusa or Modica. Can anyone recommend a good driver and/or company?

There are several reliable companies in Catania and Siracusa that would do the Catania to Ortigia run. If you google "Autoservizi " Catania and/or Siracusa, you'll come up with a lot of options. We used Autoservizi Sicily Tours di C. Egitto and were satisfied, but shop around as rates vary. Autoservizi Sicily could also arrange the Modica or Ragusa trip. They have drivers stationed around the country. On our last trip, I asked our Airbnb host in Siracusa if she knew anyone who would be interested in taking us. She suggested a very nice young man who was unemployed and welcomed the opportunity to earn a bit of cash. He wasn't a professional, but he got the job done and was happy to do it.
