Private Driver Amalfi Coast/Paestum, See Ravello?

We are preparing for a trip to Sorrento in April and are planning to hire a private driver to tour Amalfi Coast & Paestum. I know this is a long day so was seeing our time being spent along the coast in Amalfi, Positano, and a couple of hours at Paestum with possible other stops along the coast for photos, etc. Based on Rick's reviews, we have contacted monetti taxi but they have a specific restaurant in Ravello they take everyone too. I was not envisioning a stop in Ravello and thought we'd just grab lunch else where, maybe near Paestum, I've read there is great mozzerella there. Do you have to go to that restaurant and/or Ravello? I have read views are great but aren't they great all along that coast? I was not planning to visit Ravello so wondered if any else has done this same trip & was Ravello worth the extra time? What does Ravello offer that you can't get otherwise along the coast? Also, do you pay for your driver to eat with you or does he do something else while you are having lunch? I'm sure many choose to on their own but for those who did not, was this awkward? I wanted to dine alone with my spouse as this trip is celebrating our anniversary and this tour especially is a splurge for us. Thanks for your advise!

Ravello is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The views from Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo are spectacular and not to be missed. We stayed in Positano when we were on the Amalfi coast and wanted to day trip to Paestum. Luckily the hotel concierge steered us straight and said simply go to Ravello. We will never regret it. We are still talking about it 11 years later. Also it seems like you are trying to cram too much into one day. You won't have time to appreciate what you are seeing.

I agree 100% with Mary. Going to the Amalfi coast without seeing Ravello would be like having strawberry shortcake without the strawberries.
