Could you please recommend car service or private tour company for a trip from Rome to Tivoli? We are four adults and instead of taking a tour through Viator of $100 per person, we have been thinking of hiring a driver with car so that we have our leisure time to roam around. Kindly advise. Thanks!
Do you want Hadrian's Villa, Tivoli town, or both?
Thanks, we were planning to do both although based on reviews, it seems we should do only Villa d’Este in Tivoli.
Angelo Vincenti ([email protected]) is a private driver we used for airport transport when we lived there. He coordinates with a group of drivers who all speak English, BTW. He or one of his colleagues might do this. No idea of price, although Rome to FCO is €55.
Thanks, I will contact them. I see bad reviews of Green line Tours. Has anyone used it? Our hotel staff has recommended that company.
If you are going to Villa d’Este why don't you just take the train? Easy, and much cheaper.
Thanks, Nigel. I thought I needed another bus from the train station to get to the villa. Is it walking from the train station?
it is about a 15-minute walk from the train station to the villa. (Maybe 20 minutes if you walk slow or stop to take pictures.) That's what we always do: walk.
Thanks, we will take train then,.
Also visit Villa Gregoriana and the waterfall.
Great. Is there a shuttle or local bus in between or should we take a taxi to Georgina? Thanks
Thanks to this forum. Our trip to Tivoli was great. The fountains are breathtaking. We were able to get a private taxi for 3 hours from the Hotel for $150. It saved our time and was worth it.
