Private boat tour from Varenna

Long time reader, first time poster. Heading to Varenna with my wife in August to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I’d love to surprise her with a private boat tour on Lake Como and ending with a dinner in Bellagio (or anywhere, really) where we could arrive by boat and eat right on the water. Doesn’t need to be overly fancy (we aren’t big fish/seafood lovers nor are we foodies though she is certainly more adventurous than me when it comes to food). I guess what I’m saying is that we prefer a great view and good food over the need for some Michelin star restaurant.

We are staying at Hotel du Lac in Varenna. I’ve done a bit of research on private boat tours but I’d rather book from someplace recommended by the fine folks here who’ve done this already as I trust the feedback from y’all over some random trip advisor comments.

Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated. I’m kind of a knucklehead when it comes to trying to surprise my wife with something cool so I’d like to try to make this happen.

I’m thinking a couple hours touring the lake by boat and then doing dinner. Thanks in advance for any help you’re willing to provide. No pressure, but without your help we will probably end up in a paddle boat docked at McDonalds. So, for my wife’s sake, help a guy out?

I think Hotel du Lac would be happy to make a recommendation for a private boat tour. If you are planning to take the ferry or car ferry back to Varenna after dinner, be sure to check the schedule for the return trip.

I was also going to suggesting asking Hotel du Lac. We are staying there in September and they have been quite helpful.

We did do a private tour when we stayed in Bellagio and I highly recommend that company.

Of course you would have to go to Bellagio first though, unless they could pick you up in Varenna.

The company is Bellagio Water Limousines.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I reached out to the Varenna boat taxi you suggested and they have been very helpful. I appreciate you all willing to help get me pointed in the right direction. Thanks again!

We had a very nice dinner at a restaurant on the water's edge right in Varenna. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the restaurant but it was quite close to Hotel du Lac. So that's another option.
