Pristine Sistine - Early Tour

Hi

I have booked the Pristine Sistine tour with walks of italy. It starts at 7:30 AM from the Sistine Chapel. We will be staying at an apartment near Campo De Fiori. How do we get to Sistine Chapel ? Is it easy to get a taxi at that time? Any idea how long will it take to reach Sistine? Thanks

Hi GR,

We took the Pristine Sistine about a week ago. Normally, the area of the meeting place and around the Vatican is jammed with traffic. But at that time of day, it's pretty quick with traffic moving along very well. We were in the Quirinale area, which is a little farther away than Campo De Fiori. I wouldn't think it'd take more than about 10 minutes once you have a taxi. I'd just scout out where the nearest taxi stand is (the orange signs) the day before.

We left a bit early to be careful. The meeting place is a ristorante that you can get a coffee and corniche if you arrive early.

Hi GR, I took this excellent tour last October. Unless they have changed their system, Walks of Italy will send you an e-mail with good directions to meet the group at a coffee bar a few blocks from the Vatican, at about 7:15 as I remember. Then the group will walk the few blocks to the entrance of the Vatican Museum, and will go through part of the Museum before reaching the Sistine Chapel. I do not believe there is a separate entry to the Sistine Chapel from the outside. I was staying near Termini and easily took the Metro, then walked a short way to the coffee bar. I can't offer any guidance about the best way to get from Campo di Fiori to the Vatican in the early morning. I imagine someone else can provide that, or you can contact Walks of Italy, they are very responsive. Enjoy your tour!

We just did the Pristine Sistine tour early May (best money I ever spent), but we took a taxi. Our hotel took care of making the arrangements, but I did notice taxi stands thru out the city.

I took the tour in September. As someone else posted above they do email you the meeting point for the tour and directions from metro stops and even pictures of the meeting location so you know what to look for. Ours was a cafe that was about 4-5 block walk from the Metro. It was one turn on what looked like a major road and I had no problems finding it. A taxi can drop you right at the meeting point. Have an espresso and some pastries to start your day and enjoy the tour.

Sounds like a good plan, taxi included. Buon viaggio!

I did a 7:30 am tour with a different company three weeks ago. My hotel was in Piazza Navona, we took a taxi to the meeting point. Lots of stairs into the Chapel, and if your tour goes to Saint Peter's afterward, you will pass through the Chapel again, by now stuffed with tourists.
