Thanks, Steve!

I assume that Dual-Band won't work right! Don't seem to find out if either/or Tri and/or Quad-Band will work in Florence!

Yoly,

Either tri-band, quad-band or dual-band Phones will work in Italy as long as the phone is equipped with the two European frequency bands, 900 & 1800 MHZ.

If you just need the phone for a short term, you might have a look at one of the "Travel Phone" firms such as Roam Simple, Call In Europe, Cellular Abroad, Mobal or Telestial to see whether one of their plans might work for you.

You could also purchase an inexpensive phone when you arrive in Italy, as there are Cell phone shops all over. However, as you'll be receiving calls from the U.S., this would mean that all of your contacts would have to dial (and pay for) long distance to Europe.

Some of the travel phone firms are able to provide connecting numbers in your area code, so that your contacts would simply have to dial a local number and the network will find you wherever you are.

Cheers!

Thanks, Ken

How about AT&T or T-Mobile prepaid phones will they work? They have the quad band and the 900-1800 feature. Is it better to go with the ones you recommended? gone to the Telestial site to explore.

Thanks again!!!
