Has anyone had a bad experience prepaying for a Rome hotel?
By prepaying, it will save me 15 euro a night. Not sure if it is worth it?

Prepaying for a hotel is pretty standard these days. I don't think you'd have a problem as long as the hotel website is legit.
You may even save a bit more than €15 a night, if the exchange rate goes up between now and whenever you're travelling. It's gone up 2 or 3 cents on the euro since we were there in June.
