Preferences between Padua, Ferrara, Vicenza and Trevisio for a day trip from Venice

Hi . I will be in Italy late September / early October and I have set aside two days in order to do one day trip each of those two days from Venice and would love your/ any thoughts /preferences between Padua, Ferrara, Vicenza and Trevisio. I am looking to spend the time in each of the two different locations I visit as a day trip from Venice: walking around, seeing interesting or picturesque locations and eating good food versus spending time inside at museums and such.
Thank you for you help !!

I have not been to Ferrara but have been to the other three. My top two would be Padua and Vicenza.

The Scrovegni chapel is a must see in Padua. The city is great to wander through and visit the Basilica of St. Anthony, the Prato Della Valle, university, botanical garden, Piazza Della Frutta, Piazza Delle Erbe.

Vicenza is the center of Palladian architecture. Many architecturally significant buildings in the city and in the nearby countryside are Villa Valmarana and Villa Rotonda (a short taxi ride from the rail station). In the city itself, the cathedral is worth a look-see, the Teatro Olimpico is a must see and the nearby Church of Santa Corona is very beautiful. For a unique dining experience in Vicenza, dine at Righetti on the Piazza del Duomo.

Treviso is a beautiful city but I do not feel it is as interesting as Padua or Vicenza.

Although I feel that Padua deserves a few nights, it can work as a day trip since it’s so close
Get an early start and get your Scrovegni tix in advance

Vicenza would be my other choice. Small enough for a day visit, close to Venice as well.

Another option you might consider is Bassano del Grappa

I would choose Vicenza and Padua. We spent one whole trip exploring the Veneto, a wonderful
experience. Favorites were Vicenza and Bassano del Grappa.

I've been to all and have spent several days in all of them. I'd go to Vicenza. I absolutely loved it and the architecture is so interesting and it is very walkable.

Does "museums and such" include art in churches and chapels? If so, for food and walking around I'd vote Treviso and Ferrara, but I haven't been to Vicenza yet. For a host of other interesting things, including art, I'd pick Padua any day.
