We will be staying one night in Venice before a cruise. I have reservations near St. Mark's square following RS Venice 2011 guide. I am now thinking that we should stay in hotel near Piazzale Roma. Please advise. Thank you!

We're talking a difference of about half an hour in travel time between Piazza San Marco and Piazzale Roma. If that breaks the deal for you, stay closer to Piazzale Roma. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. Venice is small.

Yes, I have decided to keep my reservation at St. Mark's square and not worry about it. I will follow Rick's advise about taking the Alilaguna from the airport and then the vaporettos to the port the next day. Thank you so much.
