Pre registration form for Sicily

We will be leaving for Sicily in 2 weeks flying from the US to Rome and then on to Palermo arriving on the 25th of April. We are both fully vaccinated and boosted. I am seeing a requirement for a pre registration form for entering Sicily. For those who have traveled to Sicily recently, have you filled out this form before arrival? One site I have seen says it is recommended and another says mandatory. Which is it? The form asks for a Province in 2 characters and a state. What do put in this space? Then there is a space for symptoms listing asymptomatic, etc. If you are feeling well, do you check asymptomatic? Aargh! I filled out the form, hit next and now I have an email from the Italian government in Italian, of course, saying I think that this appointment form is good for 15 days. It says something about consenting to be swabbed at the airport. Help please. This is really confusing. Should I print out the email response and bring it with me?

Hi Donna,

That is the link. Click “conferma” and it takes you to the form. I know that we have to submit an EUDPLF but this one is confusing. I am not sure how to proceed and am hoping someone on the forum knows. I pm’d our tour guide for the Best of Sicily tour on Facebook and asked him as well. But he may not check in to FB very often and may be too busy to respond. I want to be compliant with all the rules and regs and certainly don’t want to be detained/quarantined because I didn’t. There is also a form for entering Puglia but I am hoping our tour guide in Rome will advise us how to proceed on that.

We are going in the May and I am confused to. From what I can gather it is only if you fly into Palermo? I thought I saw something only good for 7 days. the Province I think is your state, State your country. I will keep watching the forum to see what happens when she goes on Tuesday.

Sorry I was wrong I looked at the form on line and saw what you meant. Province with 2 characters I think is when you filled out your location form it said for Sicily82. Do they want the 82 in their. I don't know if their are more than 1 province in Sicily. It said right on the top this is only good for 7 days.

rmpluer - I put in IT and Italia showed up as the state. I am not sure if that is correct. From what little Italian I have it says something about the reservation is good for 15 days so from today to April 25.

Starting on February 7, 2022, travelers to Italy holding a valid certificate of recovery or vaccination (even with a vaccine not recognized in Italy) and issued more than 6 months ago, may still access the same services and activities reserved to Super Green Pass holders after receiving a negative swab test (valid 48 hours if antigenic, or 72 hours if molecular).

I just copied this from the government website (it.usembassy.gov). It reads to me that if your vaccine was more then 6 months ago you need to be swabbed when you arrive. Can we then assume that if your booster was within the 6 months you don’t need the form or swab? We are leaving for Palermo on April 20. I was boosted Dec 2 and my husband yesterday. Within the 6 months. Correct?

Barbara - I don’t know if that applies to Sicily as well as the rest of Italy as I read that some “provinces” in Italy can make their own rules. That’s why I am asking. Hopefully some of our Italian forum members would be able to help all of us out here.

This may not help, but the British Airway site offered me the option of printing out the form. My form has 3 options: test before 72/48hrs., swab test on arrival or within 48 hrs., 10 day quarantine. If you check quarantine, then the form requires more info about that. Thank you for bringing this up. I hadn’t seen any mention of having to take a test before Sicily and I don’t mind being swabbed at the airport, but I hadn’t realized we’d need a test before.

I should had added that when I checked my British Airways reservation, they show Sicily as having the additional form. We fly into Rome, then take a separate ITA flight the following day. I need to check the ITA website to see what they say. After trying for days to upload my trip to VeriFly, I had taken a break from trying to upload documents.

Thanks, Patty. Please let us know what you find out. It seems we are all still at sea on this one. I don’t mind if I have to swab in Palermo but do I need to set up an appt., will the airline let me get on the plane in the US if I don’t fill out the form and submit it, what do I put on the form for state and province?

We are on an Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) tour of Sicily, leaving April 22. Correspondence from OAT, dated 3/18/22 states "you may be required to take a rapid test upon arrival in Sicily. To speed up the testing process please register for your Palermo swab test at https://fiera.asppalermo.org/site/tampone/131. OAT provided instructions how to fill out the form. OAT also states "make sure you have your boarding pass as Palermo authorities will check it. After you fill out the form, an email will be sent to you with an attachment. Please note the 'Codice Tampoe' which means swab test code section. This is the number you will need to give at the covid test area to proceed with testing". We are also going on the OAT pre-trip to Puglia. There's a local entrance form for that region as well but no testing requirement.

Lyn,

Thanks so much for your response to my post. Have you filled out the form yet? How soon before arrival do we need to submit it? What do you put for state and province on the form? Any help you can give us here is much appreciated as we have no guidance on this.

I haven't filled out the form yet as it expires at 7 days. OAT instrutions were to fill out the form 72 hours of departure. We will fill it out while in Puglia as we are there 7 days before Sicily. As to state/province , OAT instructions "select your state from drop down"

So per Laura at RS office, we should put IT in the province space on the form and the state will automatically say Italia. The form is asking where you would quarantine if you test positive. That would be the Hotel Ambasciatori (first tour hotel in Palermo). If they do test us at the airport and it is within the 48 hour time frame to be tested for the tour, we wouldn’t need to test again. We need to submit this form 7 days before arrival in Palermo. And also choose the option asymptomatic on the form. And print the form with the QR code and bring it with you.

Just arrived in Palermo and wanted to let you know that there was no form or covid swab required. We just walked off the plane and out of the exit. We flew SEA/FRA/FCO/PMO.

Thanks, Donna. That’s interesting. Did you preregistration at all beforehand? We are flying American and they are saying it’s mandatory.

We did register beforehand, but there was no place to submit the form, nor any option, other than exiting the airport.

Thanks, Donna. That’s what we will do as well. It may be just random testing at the Palermo airport.
